If your child is anything like ours, they are obsessed with wanting to help in the kitchen. Tugging on legs, parroting “up, up, up!” and demanding a taste of every ingredient. It’s endearing, and we love the enthusiasm, but it would be great (not to mention convenient) if they had a kitchen of their own. Enter the Lovevery play kitchen.
With running water and tools for preparing real snacks, it gives those little helpers a place to get to work. But at $325, it raises a fair question: do you need a working kitchen, or would a less expensive pretend kitchen be just as welcome?
Our take
Buy Lovevery for real food preparation and a child-height washing station. Choose Tiny Land Iconic Aqua for a child aged three or older who wants running-water play alongside pretend appliances. Buy IKEA DUKTIG if pretend cooking is the main attraction. Paying for a working water system makes little sense if you won't regularly fill and clean it.

Lovevery: pay for the real kitchen jobs

Lovevery’s strongest argument is food preparation. Its fresh-water tank and separate used-water basin support rinsing produce and filling a cup. Included tools such as the wooden chopper, cutting board and colander give the work surface a purpose beyond holding pretend food.
We’d pay the premium for a family planning to use those jobs in everyday routines. A snack station where a child washes ingredients, prepares something simple and cleans up has a clearer role than another large toy.
The cost includes your time. Lovevery instructs parents to fill with fresh water before use and empty and dry both containers afterward. Choose this kitchen because you want that routine. If filling and emptying another water container sounds like a feature you’ll avoid, buy a simpler pretend kitchen. Product details; water-system care.
Tiny Land Iconic Aqua: water play plus a pretend oven

Tiny Land is the more direct comparison for families who want running water without giving up a pretend stovetop, oven and microwave. Its cream model was listed at $265.99 during this check, $59.01 below Lovevery’s listed price.
The manufacturer describes a clean-water tank draining into a waste bucket, but explicitly says the water is not for drinking. Don’t treat the presence of a working faucet as proof of the same food-preparation use as Lovevery.
Buy Tiny Land for a child aged three or older whose play centres on pretending to cook, with water as another play feature. Buy Lovevery when real snack preparation is the reason for the purchase. Tiny Land lists a width of 42.9 inches and estimates 70 to 100 minutes for assembly, so allow for both the space and setup. Tiny Land product details.
IKEA DUKTIG: save the money if cooking is make-believe

At $129.99, DUKTIG costs $195.01 less than Lovevery before accessories. It offers a familiar pretend kitchen setup with an oven, microwave and light-up cooktop, without a water tank to manage.
That is a meaningful advantage when your child wants to serve pretend meals. You lose the working washing station, but you also remove the refilling and emptying that comes with it. Cookware and four AA batteries are separate purchases, so the kitchen price is not a complete stocked play setup.
Buy DUKTIG when pretend cooking is the point. Spend the remaining budget on the accessories your child will actually use rather than paying for water by default. IKEA DUKTIG.
Lovevery x Our Place Limited-Edition Play Kitchen Review

Our assessment is based on Lovevery’s published product information, rather than hands-on testing of the limited edition.
The limited edition pairs the kitchen with Our Place’s Blue Salt colour and a Pretend Play Cook Set: a miniature Always Pan, wooden spatula and silicone burner mat. Lovevery also offers the set separately while supplies last.
The distinction matters: Lovevery says those pretend accessories are not tested or intended for real food. The kitchen’s practical tools and the pretend cookware serve different purposes.
Choose this edition for the colour and included pretend set. Don’t buy it expecting a new food-preparation capability. Existing kitchen owners can consider the separately sold set without replacing the whole kitchen. The US limited-edition kitchen is $350, and the Pretend Play Cook Set is $30 separately, before tax and shipping. Edition details; pretend-set food guidance.
Which would we buy?
For a real snack-preparation and washing station, choose Lovevery. For pretend cooking, choose DUKTIG and keep the savings. For a child aged three or older who wants pretend appliances and running-water play together, choose Tiny Land.
